Jim Colangelo is a singer/songwriter who has lived in the Texas songwriting hamlet of Wimberley tX for over twenty years. After writing for Nashville until 2011, Jim did not like the way Nashville music was going and started writing Americana music, Texas styled, for himself. His CD, “The Swamp Has Eyes” will be released in May of 2017 and several songs from it have already been accepted for radio airplay with more stations coming onboard every day. The title track of the CD was written for the TV show Swamp People.

On June 4th 2017, Jim and his band, Mother Tucker’s Band, will be going into the studio to cut a Trop Rock song Jim wrote called “Tan Lines”, which is highly anticipated by many Trop Rock radio stations including Radio A1A in Key West. It will be released June 5th via TuneCore to the public for purchase on over 150 internet outlets. “The Swamp Has Eyes” is schedule for an early May release, also via TuneCore.

Jim is a regular picker at Luckenbach, Texas and several places in the Port Aransas/Corpus Christi area of Texas. Look for Jim at a venue near you as he tours the country in support of “The Swamp Has Eyes” and “Tan Lines”! Jim plays two Bourgeois guitars, an Adirondeck topped Country Boy named “Ole 44” and a Vintage Custom D, also Adirondeck topped, which is a prototype for Dana’s innovative X braced back. This gives the guitar added volume and tone. Both guitars are ten years old and widely thought as the best sounding acoustic guitars in the Texas Hill Country.
