PROFESSIONAL SERIES

Hog Top

Warmth. When you simply can’t have enough, the Hog Top has it all.

All-Mahogany. Warm tone laced with rich velvet. Not just a niche guitar, a Hog Top just might be your next everyday player. When selected for tone a Mahogany top produces rich, woody and velvety tonalities. And when properly voiced you get the same clear, balanced highs and lows, and foundational presence that you expect from every Bourgeois guitar. The PS-S version features our newest satin finish lacquer, offering vintage tone with a refined, traditional finish.

Professional Series

Where modern design meets vintage soul in a guitar built to perform.

Handcrafted in Lewiston, Maine, the Professional Series is designed for working musicians who demand more. Whether you’re chasing warmth, clarity, or balance, every guitar in the series is built with select tonewoods, precision-voiced bracing, and our proprietary bolt-on neck for tonal consistency and long-term serviceability. Choose between our new satin finish (PS-S models only) for a smooth, broken-in feel or upgrade to the PS model for a torrefied Sitka Spruce top, Aged Tone bracing, and high-gloss finish.

Whichever path you take, the result is the same: honest tone, effortless playability, and classic Bourgeois craftsmanship refined for the rigors of the modern player.

BOLT-ON NECK DESIGN

Designed by Dana. Proven by Time.

In the early 1970s, Dana Bourgeois set out to solve a centuries-old challenge in acoustic guitar design: how to maintain precise neck angle and long-term serviceability without compromising tone. The result was his proprietary detachable neck joint, a revolutionary system that became a hallmark of Bourgeois guitars.

Unlike traditional dovetail joints, Dana’s design allows for accurate, repeatable neck angle adjustments without steaming, cutting, or guesswork. Today, after nearly 50 years of refinement, this system continues to define every Bourgeois instrument, including the Professional Series. Paired with a graphite-reinforced, double action truss rod, it ensures unmatched stability, precision playability, and effortless maintenance.
