Job description includes drafting, programming and operating CNC for a variety of projects including new product design, tooling, fixturing and component prototyping.

Applicants should be capable of working in both CAD and CAM with preference given to experience in Rhino and 4th axis machining.  A background in guitars, lutherie and/or woodworking is preferred.

PRODUCTION WORKER

Full Time 

 

Job Summary:The Production Operator mills components with precise dimensions from rough parts.  The milled components are used in the construction of finished guitars.  Additionally, this position is responsible for prepping the raw wood to be used for the guitar tops, sides, and backs. 

 

 

Daily Functions: 

  • Learn to safely operate complex CNC machinery 
  • Learn to safely operate woodworking equipment needed to prep raw wood for guitar building 
  • Inspect raw parts for quality and fit 
  • Producing parts that meet spec and quality standards 
  • Operate to a set weekly output schedule. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Detail oriented 
  • Ability to learn about various guitar models and how the produced parts fit the models 
  • Ability to prioritize workflow without supervision 
  • Strong time management skills 

 

Experience/Education: 

  • Experience working and producing to schedule independently 
  • Wood working experience or aptitude to learn woodworking functions and operate equipment safely

Luthier / Woodworker

We are a well-established acoustic guitar manufacturer in Lewiston, ME seeking an experienced, hard-working woodworker or luthier for a full time position. Job description could include a wide range of activities such as wood prep, body and neck construction, finish sanding, guitar set ups, fret work, etc. Must have good attitude, willingness to learn, and dedication to producing high quality musical instruments. MANDOLIN LUTHIER

Bourgeois Guitars is seeking a full time Luthier to assist all aspects of development and production of our new line of high-end custom Mandolins.
For decades Bourgeois Guitars has been known for producing some of the finest flat top steel string guitars in the world.  In 2021 we will begin the process of bringing that same renown quality and tone to the world of Mandolins.
We are looking for an accomplished Luthier with a thorough knowledge of the history of the Mandolin in the American marketplace, a demonstrable record of executing traditional designs at a high level and the ability to interface with Bourgeois’ management to assist development of a production process and facility.
Job description includes:
  • Assist product design and development team
  • Assist process design and development team
  • Hands-on management of facility installation
  • Hands-on construction of high-end custom instruments
  • Day to day management of production personnel 
  • CAD/CAM experience is beneficial, though not necessary
