Panama Rosewood, nicknamed ‘Panama Red’ by Dana Bourgeois, holds all the tonal magic of dense Rosewoods while remaining relatively light in weight. This yields a desirable stiffness to weight ratio, translating into exceptional resonance and projection. The OM Panama Red 9916 includes our full suite of Aged Tone options – including an AT Adirondack top, AT Adirondack bracing, AP glue, and AT Finish. Built with similar appointments to our Vintage/HS, the Panama Red kicks things up a notch with killer exotic tonewoods and our complete set of “vintage tone enhancing” upgrades.
